Helping Hero is powerful and unique web-based platform developed as a ‘by product’ for the common good. GENROE is a successful, Australia-based company that develops software to help clients maximize the return on costumer investment. Tracey Ah Hee, director and founder of GENROE, is the driving force behind Helping Hero, which started as a neighbourhood tool to organize baby-sitting hours. The online platform has grown into a sophisticated management tool that allows companies to manage volunteer programs for their employees. Foundations and non-profit organizations are provided with an extremely efficient tool to manage the involvement of volunteers, helping them better achieve their goals.

Internews Europe: a global media development agency.

Internews’s sole focus is to provide access to information and to make voices heard even under the most difficult circumstances. Working at the forefront of media development, Internews has been among the first to implement the latest technologies in its projects. Project goals are three fold: media development around environmental issues, information systems that foster economic development in emerging markets and humanitarian communication. Internews is partnering with the BBC Worlservice Trust and other global players the best possible outcome for any project.

Internews has been depended entirely on public sector funding. The funds received have allowed the team to build sucessful pilot projects and a global infostructure supporting media development in emerging markets. Cause2Connect is working with the senior management team at Internews to identify and engage appropriate for-profit partners to scale their work. Successful projects with a strong telecommunications and technology component are analysed and a long term strategy for private sector support is being developed. The goal is to lead successful pilot projects to national and global application.

RBaby/POISE: medical professionals

RBaby Foundation is the first and only non-profit foundation uniquely focused on saving babies’ lives by improving paediatric emergency care. R Baby focuses on effective paediatric ER and neonatal training programs, rapid detection and diagnosis of viruses and other newborn illnesses, communication patient and family centred care programs, innovative research and other various efforts to improve the standard of care for infants. The Clinic: medical centre for the uninsured

Since 2001, the staff and volunteers of The Clinic in Phoenixville have served the uninsured and underinsured with low-cost or free medical care. The team offers primary medical care as well as a variety of medical specialties and addiction and nutrition counselling. The economic crisis has had a huge impact on the population that is served. Demand has increased drastically and measures have been taken to scale the offers. Intensive fundraising activities with national media have been initiated and steps implemented to scale the project by sharing experience with professionals and medical centers that share the team’s inspiration.
